Last week we travelled to Valencia in Spain for the EFRA GP 1/8 On-Road.
Also this race was seen as the warm-up for the upcoming European
Championship in July.
We Arrived on Wednesday because the free practice was starting on
Thursday. The weather was not really as we expected with 16-17 degrees
but high winds made it feel a lot colder. Also the track was really dirty so
These conditions were not reflecting the conditions that we will have at
The EC in July at all.
The conditions slightly improved on Friday and in the afternoon we could
finally start testing something. My Mugen MRX4X was working quite well
and also the Eagle 21 9.s engine was working well and making the 5 minutes
With the fuel was not really a problem on this track.
On Saturday the track was at it’s best and my car was really good. This
allowed me to improve my time every heat. In the last heat I push to
Make a top 4 place unfortunately I was blocked by a driver for some laps
And I had to force my way past him. This cost some time and therefore I
only manage the 6th qualifying time, 1 second from 2nd place!!
On Sunday morning it rained very hard and also the wind started to come
up again. By the time I had to run my semi the track had dried up but all
traction was gone. I started from pole and I could take some distance from
the rest of the field, in the end I finish 3rd because I do a fuel stop more for
safety.
In the final I start from 7th place, in the first corner the number 8 driver crashed into my car and due to this the tire and suspension was damaged a little.
The car was sliding a lot and after some laps the same driver blocked his brakes
And I could not avoid him, so I get a stop and go! In the first 10 minutes I lost
a lap already, and in the end I finish 5th about 1.5 laps behind the leader.
My car was good in qualifying but after the incident in the final it was not so good.
My Eagle 21 9.S engine was fast and had a good fuel consumption.
Thanks to mySponsorts and mechanics Herman and Richard, they did really well, thanks!!
